Taking the Train Like A Big Girl { Septa Adventures }

Thursday, April 2nd, 2015

I am so excited to be decorating out a new place and have so many ideas about how! (see some of my inspirations here and here) And as there are many cute shops in Manayunk which I have yet to explore – there are things I need (ok want) that I must go downtown for. So the question was – to drive and pay $20 to park OR try out the train system for less than half the price.

I opted for the train system – gotta learn the tracks some day why not on a sunny late morning ride! Using the sorta trusty google transit app – off I went . . . .

After sitting on the wrong side of the tracks for a few minutes, I made a mad dash down the stairs and up the correct side.  Then I sat for about ten minutes before realizing I forgot to actually buy a ticket behind the little door labeled – ‘tickets’,  I made the train just in time.  (then learned I can actually buy a ticket on the train) I still can’t figure out how they know who paid and who hasn’t?

It was a gorgeous and sunny day downtown.  I got the curtains I wanted from West Elm (will share in a later post) and had myself some lunch and sat in Rittenhouse square for old times sake.  (Note to self for next time – wearing a backpack is not as embarrassing as trying to lug a heavy bag of curtains in a paper bag that got soggy on the bottom from a leaky water bottle.)

Was I suppose to leave this on the train?

I missed the next train home by about a full ten minutes. Guess I better figure out what everyone else around here already has about the trains – like umm where Suburban station actually is?  So I got home a little later than expected but it is always nice to come to some smiling doggy faces and happy wagging tails!

This place is starting to feel like home :)
