Dogging Around {Hanging Out With Dogs}

Sunday, January 18th, 2015

Some days you just need to dog around the yard, do some barking, bouncing & ball chasing.

My semi-lazy sweet pea. She a fluffy ball of dog-breath kisses.

Mr Buzzy B with his serious thoughts and bouncy feet.  He’s all sweetness and night time snuggles.

In the last few months, Shay’s face is beginning to show some white around the lips & eyes. Don’t tell her that it’s a sign she’s aging. She still thinks she’s a puppy!

He’s the boss & he won’t be letting anyone forget it!  He may be loud & bossy but his scrappy cuteness will win you over in seconds.

I just love all my furry pals!

My two mutts are the best ever!

I know obviously I’m biased. I know they aren’t perfect – let’s face it none of us are. Yes they wake me in the middle of the night flapping ears, chewing feet, snoring or barking at ‘noises’ outside. They require walking, feeding, bathing, brushing, vet bills, { errr umm 3 knee surgeries!?} play time, car rides, dog beds, cold weather coats, attention (one more than the other).

But they are still the best!  They keep me company when I’m alone.

They remind me to exercise.

And to eat.

They make me laugh. (even when I’m sad)

They snuggle when I’m cold.

They have taught me patience, forgiveness, restfulness.

And they remind me to take the time to have fun & a to enjoy the day by just being present in the moments.

They are the best!

Mr. B {Bailey the Boxer}

Saturday, March 15th, 2014

Usually my pal, Bailey, is quite shy around the camera. He prefers to hide his sweet face (so I get a boxer bum shot instead!) or bounce around being silly.  But today we made a deal. He could lie on my unmade bed and I could take a few quick photos since I just cleaned my camera gear.

And of course this all happened after I was able to convince Kaysea to get off the bed to change the sheets

If you live with dogs, you probably know all about this struggle 😉  But who can say no to all the sweetness.

Where Are The Now? {Carly & Lulu Pt2}

Sunday, January 26th, 2014

There were so many images from Part One that I had to split the post into Part Two on the update of those sweet little black & white puppies that my roommate & I were fostering.

Lulu (aka Bunny)

It’s so hard to have a puppy in the house – and even harder when there is two (and two adult dogs which makes four!)  But it is even harder still to give them away when the time comes.  These were foster puppies, so that meant not ours to keep.  Carly Q set her sites on my mom & dad & her new home in Florida. Lulu, before she knew it, already found a home right where she was – with Sean.

I am pretty sure from day #1 these puppies stole Sean’s heart. The idea that he wouldn’t know what was to happen to them once they left our care – was not something Sean could really stand for. At the first adoption event (and their last), I could tell Sean was struggling with this idea. I, of course, was perfectly fine with seeing them off (lie).  So once Carly had made her play for her furever home. Sean caved & the decision to keep Lu for himself was made. This way the sisters could stay in touch.

And as you can tell, Lulu missed her rambunctious sister so very much . . .

And while Carly is swimming in the lake & chasing Frisbees in Florida, Lulu is learning how to have fun in the snow outside of Philadelphia.. Here are some updated photos from Sean . . .

Silly Lulu

And adventurous Lu

And don’t you worry – Lulu is not alone in all her adventures. She has a furry kitty -Mylo. Who has learned to love (tolerate)  this silly girl.

She sure knows how to get her way. I mean, really? How could you say no to this face?!

I would to help out more animals in need of medical attention, forever homes & a family to love them. I would love to hear some of your ideas on a product I can create where the proceeds go to a local no kill shelter.

Where Are The Now? {Carly & Lulu Pt1}

Tuesday, January 21st, 2014

Some of you may remember those furry little black & white balls of rolly polly puppies that my roommate & I were fostering. Wonder whatever happened to them?

Well a year & a half later, here is an update:

Carly (now known as Carly Q, or as I call her Sweets )

Carly is not the most social girl. She is very shy to new people. (and by shy I mean she barks) At the puppies’ first adoption event, she wanted nothing of the attention of strangers. She even tried to escape the puppy pen a few times. She wanted nothing more then to snuggle under the chair of my mom or in her lap. And with this move, the spunky puppy found her new home in Northwest Florida with mom & pop.

And lucky for this water loving dog – she gets to live along a lake! Learning to swim was a breeze.

She has grown up fast & big. From a plump 12lbs fuzzy puppy to a sleek & athletic shiny 60lbs+! But don’t let this sweet face with the big wet nose fool you!

And she’s a stinker that’s for sure!

Carly fills her days with kisses, snuggles, toys, mischief with her brothers (Bailey & Jack), car rides with her friends (Shayla & Kaysea), lake swims, fetching the ball and . .

And of course her favorite: the frizbee!  Carly gets faster & more precise every day. And have you seen those muscles?! She has become a truly happy athletic dog.

Follow more of Carly Q and her misadventures on Instagram.

Stay tuned for Where Are The Now?  {Carly & Lulu Pt2} to see where Lulu is
